Description
As the golden hues of the setting sun reflect off the rolling waves, a great blue heron stands poised at the water’s edge, its long, slender legs bracing against the pull of the tide, eyes locked onto the shimmering surface as it waits for the perfect moment to strike. I photographed this beautiful heron at Middleton Place outside of Charleston, SC. Then I painted him into a beautiful sunset that I also photographed on the Isle of Palms, SC. I loved painting the two together.
