A Roseate Spoonbill is captured in mid-flight just above the water, its wings spread wide showing the beautiful gradation of pink hues. Its long, flat bill is distinctive, typical of its species, and its gaze is directed forward as it glides over the rippling surface.I photographed this beautiful bird at Smith Oaks rookery, in High Island, Texas.
