Description
This is a lovely view in infrared, black and white, of the "Sinuosity" so typical of live oak trees. The sinuous branches of live oaks often extend outward and downward in graceful curves, giving the trees a sprawling and elegant silhouette. This growth pattern can be influenced by various factors, including genetics, environmental conditions, and competition for sunlight. Live oaks frequently adapt their growth to navigate around obstacles, reach towards available light, and sometimes to withstand strong winds or other external forces.
The sinuosity of live oak trees is a key aspect of their aesthetic appeal and has made them a beloved and iconic tree species in regions where they are native, such as the southeastern United States. Many historic landscapes and Southern streetscapes are adorned with these majestic trees, which have come to symbolize strength, resilience, and the beauty of nature's intricate forms.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
